TrustedInstaller is the windows installer. You can stop this if you want. It will restart if needed. mmc is the program that hosts applets. Many features in windows are exposed with MMC snapins. Reliability and Performance Monitor uses mmc (if you are using it to view memory). SvcHost hosts windows services. To see what service right click the process in Task Manager and choose Go To Service. The services in that process will be highlighted. I have stop trustinstaller.exe in dev environment.Thanks
